Master Stealth Hypnosis
If you want to master stealth hypnosis, you should study the techniques of Dave Elman. Most people today have probably never heard of the late Dave Elman, but those who know of him understand that, more than anyone, he was responsible for the modernization of hypnosis and its acceptance by the American Medical Association (AMA) as a valid tool for treating a variety of ailments, both physical and mental. Dave Elman trained thousands in his hypnosis techniques and refused to train anyone but licensed and accredited physicians and dentists.
When people speak of mastering stealth hypnosis, they most likely don’t credit Dave Elman with its development. Most practitioners of stealth hypnosis are more likely to credit Milton Erickson, a contemporary of Elman’s who is most noted for his contributions to neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). But Erickson’s approach to hypnosis differed greatly from Elman’s. Where Erickson would spend a significant amount of time inducing trances through a rather complex process of conversational techniques, Elman quickly and easily helped his clients reach the deep trance state that is necessary for effectively dealing with the client’s problem.
Some will say that since stealth hypnosis is conversation based, Erickson’s methods would be more effective in learning to master stealth hypnosis. That may be true to a point, but a thorough familiarity with Elman’s techniques is sure to make anyone using stealth hypnosis more effective.
One example of Elman’s technique is the “Magic Spot”. Elman would paint a small circle on a patient’s arm with alcohol and tell them that it was a magic spot and that whenever someone gave them an injection in that magic spot, they wouldn’t feel any discomfort. This waking hypnosis technique works particularly well with children and is still widely used today, along with other pain avoiding waking suggestions that are used in doctors’ and dentists’ offices around the world.
These techniques are little different from the techniques you will be using once you learn and master stealth hypnosis.
